Leveraging the Instincts for Higher Development: A Coaching Perspective

Join Diana and her colleague Belinda Gore for this new teaching on how to use the Instincts in coaching – now offered in a live virtual format.

This course is designed to teach coaches how to guide their clients in accessing and balancing the three Instincts highlighted in Enneagram theory. During the five 90-minute sessions, you will have an opportunity to explore the varied expressions of Self-Preservation (Preserving), Sexual (Transmitting), and Social (Navigating) Instincts. Using elegantly designed experiential learning, you will have a direct experience of each Instinct as well as build tools for recognizing and trusting their embodiment.

This teaching is a powerful and brilliant interweaving of how Instincts arise developmentally and how we can integrate the Instincts in personal and practical ways. As coaches, we are in service to the unfolding of our clients’ individual and unique expression of the higher levels of their Enneagram types. When our clients learn to allow and accept the body-based energies of Instincts, their power naturally moves them in the direction of growth.

Through this live virtual course you will:

  • Recognize each of the three Instincts and how they operate in yourself and your clients.

  • Develop tools for working with your clients to allow and integrate the instinctual drives for a balanced, fulfilled life.

  • Harness the power of the Instincts for the work of transformative growth.

No prior experience with the Enneagram is required.

Approved for 7.5 ICF CCE Units. For more information and to register contact Deep Coaching Institute

A Walk Into You: Complimentary Circle

Please join Diana and long-time colleague and master coach Dina Silver as we pilot a four month (bi-monthly) women’s circle of insight and action. We are gathering a group of inspiring and inspired women who are open to sharing deeply about who we are, how we thrive, where we hold back and what we truly desire.

The first circle is our launch and you are invited to join as our guest at no charge. We promise your time will be well spent. We will be exploring the topic of polarities - the way in which we over-anchor on one side of a continuum and miss the growth and action available on the other side. Think for example: safety and risk, masculine and feminine, control and trust.

We will meet virtually on Zoom and are limiting the number of woman so that conversation can be rich, deep and unhurried. This offer is by invitation only. Please be in touch if you are called.

The Human Condition: Using the Enneagram to Understand the Dynamics of Personality

  • SAN FRANCISCO STATE CAMPUS (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

THIS IS A 15 HOUR COURSE FOR SF STATE, CORE SKILLS COACHING PROGRAM

Identifying our personality type reveals eye-opening information regarding patterns of how we relate to others or behave in certain situations. This information opens the door to an understanding of how deeply individuals can differ in their worldviews and orientation to life circumstances.

Coaches often use personality type systems to support their clients’ development and realization of goals.  This course introduces the Enneagram as a comprehensive and precise system for psychological and spiritual development. It identifies nine substantially different worldviews and personality types, each with their unique assets and challenges. A particular value of the Enneagram is that it offers a blueprint for finding a way out of unsatisfying personal patterns associated with each of the types, and reveals a path for realizing and expressing one’s greatest gifts.  This system provides coaches with remarkable insight into the inner experience of their clients and can be used to help clients create sustainable shifts.

Instincts, Ancient Practices and Enlightenment

  • Seattle, Washington United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

The ancient practice of ritual postures is a body-based practice, using breath, sound, and posture to expand our experience and capacity for contact with spirit.  Our instincts are also body-based, aspects of the animal body that, once conscious and functioning harmoniously, move naturally toward the higher instinct for Enlightenment.

Our purpose in this retreat is to open and balance the three body-based instincts, raising their vibration to allow a deeper or higher intelligence to manifest in us.  In this way we redeem the animal body as the vessel for experiencing and expressing Being in the world of manifestation.

In this four-day intensive retreat we will explore the higher expression of Self-Preservation, Sexual, and Social instincts as well as the instinct for Enlightenment using Ecstatic Body Postures and the Cuyamungue Method as the means for experiential learning for opening, listening, and trusting our own direct experience of spirit.

Join Diana Redmond and Belinda Gore, Ph.D

Belinda Gore was a long-time friend and colleague of the late Dr. Felicitas D. Goodman, an internationally renowned anthropologist who discovered in the artwork of indigenous societies a complex tradition of ritual body postures.  For over twenty years Belinda was the President of The Cuyamungue Institute, a center for research and education about ritual body postures near Santa Fe, New Mexico, and currently serves as the Director of Training, traveling international to teach The Cuyamungue Method.

Not only do Belinda and Diana offer a fresh, unique and common-sense approach to the Instincts, but they offer a process and exercises that bring the material home. Exercises that made it obvious to me how my instincts both help and hinder how I can move forward with life’s vision and dreams. Belinda and Diana bring compassion, wisdom and unique insights to this workshop.”

Reclaiming Your Inner Wisdom: A Transformative Journey With Your Inner Critic

Join this vital two-day experiential workshop that will change your life!

Facilitated by Diana Redmond and Curt Micka

Sponsored by Pablo Iturralde Barba

Day One:  A study of the Inner Critic leading to a deeper relationship with Inner Wisdom

Day-to-day life is full of stressors. And the Inner Critic, a major source of stress,  can create havoc in our personal and professional lives. Whether we obey our Inner Critic, try our best to ignore it, or try to defeat it, this “authoritative” voice within is a part of every personality and takes up an astounding portion of our psychic energy.

In this first day of the workshop we’ll explore creating a new relationship with our Inner Critic – making space for a deeper and truer source of wisdom to be heard.

Day Two:  A study of the Enneagram:  an integrative system that identifies Nine unique ways of perceiving the world and one's self.

Learn why we all have an Inner Critic and how it operates to keep us safe, but small! We will examine the automatic defense strategies of the nine personality structures that limit our freedom and fuel our inner critic.  By the end of day two you will remember how beautiful, capable, and innately gifted you are and experience an increased level of Emotional Intelligence.

Come explore the Enneagram and this critical developmental path that will open you to your authentic inner knowing, guidance and natural gifts.

The Transformative Power of Conflict

  • Hyatt San Francisco Airport Hotel (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Conflict is a natural, common occurrence in our day-to-day lives, more so than we would like to think. Whether it is experienced as a subtle internal war, often exacerbated by the inner critic, or it manifests externally with the inevitable friction, disagreements, and opposing viewpoints of those we interact with, conflict is unavoidable - at least for 99.5% of the population.

Most seminars and workshops dealing with conflict focus on what it takes to manage conflict or resolve isolated disputes. These workshops focus on the external work of conflict – e.g. making ”I” statements, “deep” listening, understanding the difference between positions and interests, communication skills, brainstorming techniques, and the like.

Our approach is different.  In this session, we will explore the inner work of conflict and how when we work with these clashes in more creative, open-hearted, and daring ways, we not only transform the nature of our conflicts, but we transform ourselves in the process.
